Close Brothers Motor Finance raised a record £7,149 to provide gifts for underprivileged children over Christmas, as part of Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas – the largest toy appeal in the UK.
With the cost-of-living crisis remaining a difficulty for families across the UK in 2025, making Christmas special was a difficulty for many due to affordability issues. For the eighth year in a row Close Brothers Motor Finance partnered with Cash for Kids to support their appeal.
Once again, Close Brothers Motor Finance staff have demonstrated their generosity and gone above and beyond to raise money and collect gifts for the appeal. With the support of colleagues, friends, dealer partners and family, Close Brothers Motor Finance raised £7,149, as well as donating over 315 gifts to benefit children in the local community. For the third year running, the sum raised was a record total. Donations from Close Brothers Motor Finance colleagues were generously matched by Close Brothers Group.
The money and presents donated by Close Brothers Motor Finance have ensured disadvantaged children were able to wake up with a smile on their faces at Christmas, providing a significant contribution to the appeal which has helped Cash for Kids provide gifts to a staggering 317,881 children over the Christmas period.
The appeal spans the entirety of the UK, and every pound and present donated as part of the campaign stays within the area it was donated, ensuring that every donation benefits children in the local communities of donors.
Seán Kemple, CEO of Motor UK and Retail Finance Ireland at Close Brothers Motor Finance, said: “Mission Christmas has become a fixture in the Close Brothers Motor Finance festive calendar, and it’s immensely gratifying that for a third year in a row we’ve reached a new record total.
“This is of course a testament to the wonderful work of our colleagues, who each year exceed expectations by throwing themselves into helping such a worthwhile cause. It’s easy to take Christmas for granted, but there are so many children who are less fortunate, and need the community’s support to get a visit from Santa and have presents to open on Christmas day. We look forward to helping on Mission Christmas down the line in 2026.”
