Close Brothers Motor Finance raised a fantastic £6,529 to provide gifts for sick and underprivileged children over Christmas, as part of Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas – the largest toy appeal in the UK.

The cost-of-living crisis continued to put a financial strain on families across the UK in 2024. Christmas created another pressure point and was unaffordable to many. This is why for the seventh year in a row, Close Brothers Motor Finance took action and partnered with Cash for Kids to support their appeal.

Once again, Close Brothers Motor Finance staff have demonstrated their generosity and gone above and beyond to raise money and collect gifts for the appeal. With the support of colleagues, friends, dealer partners and family, Close Brothers Motor Finance raised £6,529, which includes £300 of employee matched giving, as well as donating over 560 gifts to benefit children in the local community. For the second year running, the sum raised was a record total.

The money and presents donated by Close Brothers Motor Finance have ensured disadvantaged children were able to wake up with a smile on their face at Christmas, providing a significant contribution to the appeal which has helped Cash for Kids provide gifts to a staggering 306,996 children over the Christmas period.

The appeal spans the entirety of the UK, and every pound and present donated as part of the campaign stays within the area it was donated, ensuring that every donation benefits children in the local communities of donors.

Seán Kemple, CEO of Motor UK and Retail Finance Ireland at Close Brothers Motor Finance, said: “The annual participation of the Close Brothers Motor Finance team in the Mission Christmas appeal has become an immense source of personal pride. In 2024 we went above and beyond once again in aid of an excellent charity.

“So many of us have the privilege to associate Christmas with happy childhood memories, so it’s a pleasure to have helped so many local children get a visit from Santa, and have presents to open on Christmas day. This is a fantastic cause and I’m always amazed by the effort put in by all of our colleagues to do what they can to help those in the local community who are less fortunate than themselves.”
