We have seen instances where customers have been asked to pay a fee to someone claiming to work with/for Close Brothers Motor Finance to help them get a loan. Sometimes the fee is disguised as an administration charge, or a payment to cover interest, in case the loan cannot be repaid.
If you think you might have been approached about this:
Stop
This is fraud! It's a criminal trying to get you to part with your money. Close Brothers Motor Finance never ask for a fee upfront. If you do pay a fee upfront, you could lose that money.
Challenge
Inform the person that Close Brothers Motor Finance don’t charge fees this way.
Protect
End the conversation and make a report to your Bank and to Action Fraud. If you've divulged any security information as part of the conversation, be sure to update that information immediately.
