Hilton Austin has been appointed as Head of Motorcycle Division at Close Brothers Motor Finance.

Hilton comes to the business with more than 20 years’ experience in the automotive and ‘software as a service’ industries. With his background in both B2B and B2C sectors, including roles at Autino and Fiat Group, he brings in-depth knowledge of franchise, dealer and OEM operations to the Motorcycle Division.

In his new role, Hilton will lead a key part of one the UK’s leading motor finance providers, overseeing the continued success and ambitious plans for the Motorcycle Division during a strong period of growth and innovation in the sector.

Seán Kemple, Managing Director at Close Brothers Motor Finance, said: “Hilton is joining the business at a pivotal time for bikes. It’s been a great year for the sector, and the future of electric motorbikes and scooters provides huge potential for growth.

“His strategic expertise within big businesses will help us make the most of opportunities to build our motorbike offering and continue to provide the highest level of service to our dealer partners and customers.”

Hilton Austin, Head of Motorcycle Division at Close Brothers Motor Finance, said: “It’s a real opportunity to join a progressive, innovative business with a people-first culture.

“I’ve spent a long time in the automotive space, but this is my first job focused solely on motorcycles. The sector is buzzing with innovation, not least because of the EV market, so it’s a great time to be looking at growing this side of the business.

“The whole process of joining Close Brothers Motor Finance has been fantastic. There aren’t many companies like this, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

Close Brothers Motor Finance is committed to providing its dealer partners with all the support and guidance they need. In recognition of its dealer-focused tools, the business won the Innovation Award at the 2022 Car Finance Awards and has most recently been nominated for Independent Finance Provider of the Year at the Motor Finance Europe Awards.

Hilton’s appointment will ensure business operations continue to deliver for dealers and customers while building an exciting future for the Motorcycle Division.
