After an activity-filled week, Close Brothers Motor Finance has raised an outstanding £14,280 for two charities close to the heart of the business.

Colleagues across the business took part in an array of challenges and activities to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At the start of the week, colleagues involved in the events donated £5 each to the Just Giving page, and hosted a number of ‘Mad Hatter’ themed tea parties across various offices.

Following this, teams held a car wash morning, followed by a sponsored afternoon walk, while one office held a fancy dress day. Throughout the week, colleagues also participated in other fundraising events such sponsored cycles and hat making. The week’s activities culminated in a bring your pet to work day, accompanied by the very popular pet photo book competition.

The Close Brothers Motor Finance team raised a total of £14,280, which when matched by Close Brothers Group becomes £28,560. Close Brothers has a long-standing relationship with both charities and holds events every year to support their work. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an international not-for-profit organisation whose work grants wishes for children living with and fighting life-threatening and critical illnesses. The money raised for Cancer Research UK will go towards helping the charity fund scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer and provide support, information and awareness to sufferers, loved ones, and the general public.

Seán Kemple, CEO of Motor UK & Retail Finance Ireland, commented: “Every year I’m blown away by the generosity, creativity and determination the team shows to raise funds for two vitally important charities.

“Our charity week continues to go from strength to strength, and it’s inspiring to see so many colleagues utilising their time to help our efforts. I’d like to say a wholehearted thank you to everyone involved, and I’m already looking forward to fun events in the pipeline for next year.”
