Our partner, Warranty Direct, offer vehicle warranty that covers you for the cost of parts and labour should an insured part suffer mechanical or electrical failure. 

Vehicles are costly enough to maintain without unforeseen costs resulting from a breakdown. Once the original manufacturer or dealer warranty runs out, you’re on your own to take care of these expenses. Taking out vehicle warranty will extend your protection and safeguard your bank balance if your vehicle goes wrong.

Eligibility and exclusions 

Are you eligible for vehicle warranty?

  • You must be over 18 and a permanent UK resident
  • Your vehicle must be less than 12 years old at the time of purchase
  • Your vehicle must NOT be used off-road for leisure purposes
  • Your vehicle must NOT be used for competition purposes
  • Your vehicle must NOT be used for hire, reward or as a taxi
  • Your vehicle must have a current MOT and be serviced accordingly to the manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Your vehicle must have less than 120,000 mileage
  • Your vehicle must not be used for commercial purposes

What is covered?

The vehicle engine, gearbox and transmission is covered as standard, but you can choose whether you want to add extra elements onto your policy including:

  • Enhanced cover including air conditioning, clutch and ignition system
  • Safety systems including braking, steering and suspension
  • Emissions including catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters
  • Multimedia systems including amplifiers, satellite navigation and CD changers

What is not covered?

  • Damage for wear and tear in the first 90 days**
  • Vehicles used for competitive or commercial purposes
  • Damage as a result of not having the vehicle regularly serviced
  • Any repair costs incurred which were not approved by Warranty Direct beforehand
  • Repairs as a result of a build up of substance deposits through use (e.g. diesel particulate filter)
  • Repairs or replacement parts not damaged but requiring replacements due to a damaged part

We’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions below.

Flexible cover to suit your needs and budget for the equivalent of £32 per month.* Premiums are determined by the age and mileage of your vehicle, the labour rate you select and the level of cover you choose. Your Warranty Direct agent will be able to provide you with a personalised quote over the phone based on your selections.

Warranty Direct offer flexible cover for you to protect against damage to your vehicles gearbox, engine and transmissions. You can also protect the safety systems, emissions and media components of their vehicle for an additional cost. Cover options will be explained to you during the quote process. 

You can claim up to the value of your vehicle at the time of the failure.  Costs for recovery, hotel expenses and emergency travel are capped at £250 each.  Car hire cover is limited to seven days at £50 per day. If you have chosen an excess amount, you will be required to pay this on each claimable repair. 

You can transfer your warranty to a new vehicle (terms and conditions apply).

You can cancel your policy at any time throughout the agreement.  If you cancel within the first 14 days you will receive a full refund of all premiums paid.  If you cancel after 14 days you will receive a pro-rata refund, minus a £50 cancellation fee, unless you have made a claim. 

Your vehicle warranty from Warranty Direct, our preferred warranty provider, is not linked to your finance agreement.

If your car breaks down you should call Warranty Direct on 0330 123 3960 to report the fault.  Warranty Direct will give you details of the nearest garage in their network. You should not instruct a repair or agree costs with a garage until you have contacted Warranty Direct to confirm cover.  Full details can be found in the ‘how to make a claim’ section of your policy document. If you chose an excess amount, you will be required to pay this on each claimable repair.
