Roman Road is where the main support
functions for the branch operations are located. The functions include:
Reception
This is the first point of call for customer and business enquires
who do not have specific contact details for either a branch or
department. Reception are able to provide information to customers
and redirect them to the relevant branch or department
Facilities Management
The department is responsible for all properties and utilities that
the branch network and head office require, including telecommunication
systems, both landline and mobile telephones, document storage and
control of the vehicle fleet.
Information Technology
The department provides IT support and in-house software development
for Close Motor Finance and also for Close subsidiaries EQR and
ASF. The department also operates a helpdesk providing support for
service users.
Business Development
The unit was opened in January 2005 as a dedicated unit for small/medium
sized dealer groups throughout the UK. The unit has 20 staff and
is open 9.00am-8.00pm weekdays and 10.00-4.00 on Saturdays. The
unit also manages the recently acquired Singer & Friedlander
book.
Sales & Marketing
The department is responsible for the design and printing of all
corporate marketing material, event organization and management,
product development and promotion. Together with this the department
also promotes the Close brand through various mediums including
press releases and publications.
Accounts
Payroll, purchase ledger and accounts payable are all handled through
the accounts department. In addition to this the department are
responsible for providing fully audited accounts, tax returns, P11D
forms and management accounts.
Credit
The department is responsible for agreeing and monitoring dealer
stocking loans, connected lending, dealer funding and advance commissions.
It also has the responsibility for our relationships with the credit
reference agencies and the fraud prevention agencies. In addition
to this other major functions include compliance and regulatory
obligations.
Human Resources
The department provides the branches and head office departments
with the support and policies needed to recruit and develop staff.
